Russia will be without Aleksandr Kokorin for the rest of their UEFA EURO 2012 campaign after he suffered a torn hamstring in training ahead of the Group A decider with Greece.
Coach Dick Advocaat confirmed at his pre-match press conference in Warsaw that the FC Dinamo Moskva player would play no further part in the tournament because of the injury. "We have two problems, one is Kokorin who's not going to be able to play at all in this tournament – he has had a hamstring injury," said the Dutchman, who also explained that midfielder Konstantin Zyryanov "was sick", casting doubt on his involvement against Greece.
The 21-year-old Kokorin, who suffered the injury in training in Sulejowek yesterday, was an unused substitute in Tuesday's draw with Poland, having previously come on for the last six minutes of the opening victory against the Czech Republic.
