Cristiano Ronaldo has been in superb form on the field at UEFA EURO 2012 and he also passed the test off it as he answered UEFA.com users' questions in our latest #Ask session.
The Portugal captain followed up his double strike against the Netherlands with the only goal of the quarter-final win against the Czech Republic – and has also hit the woodwork four times. The Real Madrid CF forward sat down at Portugal's Opalenica base and replied to four lucky users' questions, to give an insight into what inspires him and to discuss fulfilling a lifelong dream.
@TheGregHorne: What is your proudest moment as a footballer?
Cristiano Ronaldo: I've already had quite a few so it's hard to mention just one. Thanks to God I've had the chance to have great moments with the national team and at club level, so it's very difficult to pick one.
@mynxoo: What area of your game do you think you need to improve the most?
Ronaldo: I think you can always improve every aspect of your game. I won't single out one area, because I think the most important thing is to always do well and work harder and harder.
@TheGoonArmy: Did you dream of captaining Portugal? How does it feel now?
Ronaldo: It's something that was always an ambition of mine and it makes me extremely proud. To be captain of my country was a dream from the start.
andi: Who was your inspiration growing up?
Ronaldo: When I was younger I played at Sporting, and I always had the ambition to become an international footballer one day. At that time I remember the likes of Rui Costa and Fernando Couto very well. I wanted to play with them, or be part of the selected few and that's what happened.
