The Faroe Islands welcome Northern Ireland for the first time in their history as they look to fashion another shock result against their UEFA EURO 2012 Group C rivals, having once earned a draw in Belfast.
Match background
• The Faroe Islands' record in two games against Northern Ireland reads W0 D1 L1 (W0 D0 L1 as the home side).
• The nations first met in a EURO '92 qualifier at Windsor Park, Belfast, on 1 May 1991. Colin Clarke put the home side ahead, but Kári Reynheim responded after the break as his side went on to draw 1-1.
• The return fixture was played in Landskrona, Sweden, since the Faroe Islands did not have any grass surfaces suitable for international football at the time. Clarke scored a hat-trick, with Kevin Wilson and Alan McDonald also on the scoresheet in a 5-0 win for Northern Ireland.
