Four-time Olympic swimming gold medallist Yana Klochkova has been unveiled as the 38th Friend of UEFA EURO 2012 in Ukraine.

The 200m and 400m individual medley champion in both 2000 and 2004 received her diploma from Ukrainian UEFA EURO 2012 tournament director Markiyan Lubkivskiy during an exhibition lesson entitled 'We are EURO 2012 hosts' at Kyiv's High School No170. Klochkova said she knows a thing or two about the responsibility Ukraine and the tournament organisers face, having represented her nation in various major competitions.

"It is a great honour for me to become a Friend of EURO 2012," said Klochkova, known in Ukraine by her nickname 'Goldfish'. "I will do everything I can to help Ukraine host the tournament in the best possible way."

Up to 100 people in both host nations, Poland and Ukraine, will enjoy the privilege of being nominated as Friends of EURO. Half will be selected by their respective local organising committee from public figures and celebrities, while the remaining spots will be open to the community.
