Ukrtelecom JSC has been named as the second Ukrainian national sponsor for UEFA EURO 2012, with Ukraine's leading telecommunications company set to support UEFA in delivering the technology solutions for the finals, working closely with Orange/TP, the technology partner in Poland.
As a national sponsor, Ukrtelecom will benefit from a wide range of rights, such as the ability to run ticket promotions for its customers and brand recognition in official premises of the final tournament. UEFA Events SA CEO David Taylor, said: "We are delighted to welcome Ukrtelecom as a member of the UEFA EURO 2012 sponsors' family and are looking forward to working with them in the delivery of IT solutions for the benefit of the tournament".
He added: "As host broadcaster for UEFA EURO 2012 it is crucial we have best-in-class services from our technology partner Ukrtelecom, in order to deliver the live match signals from Ukrainian stadiums to UEFA's many broadcaster partners and then on to football fans around the world. We believe the combination of their extensive telecommunication network and their expertise in technology solutions will help to transmit the passion and success of UEFA EURO 2012 to fans from all over the world."
Georgii Dzekon, head of the Ukrtelecom management board, said: "We are glad UEFA has recognised Ukrtelecom's ability to implement telecommunications projects of such a level, complexity and scale. It's a real international recognition of the absolute leadership of Ukrtelecom as the only national operator able to provide such a comprehensive range of telecommunication services throughout Ukraine.
"Ukrtelecom is 100% ready to confirm its high status within UEFA EURO 2012 – the first UEFA European Football Championship to be held in central and eastern Europe. We will do everything possible to ensure that telecommunications for the championship meet the highest international standards."
The UEFA EURO 2012 commercial programme consists of ten sponsors with global rights, and also offers four national sponsor spots for companies in Poland and four spots in Ukraine, with national sponsors' rights being limited to the territory of the designated host country.
