More worries for France in Sarajevo

Bosnia and Herzegovina's first home fixture in UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying Group D brings them up against a France side they have yet to overcome following two previous meetings.

• Bosnia and Herzegovina won 3-0 in Luxembourg on Friday with Mensur Mujdža making his debut. Coach Safet Sušić said: "My players completed the task, scored early goals and started qualification with a win. France are coming to us as wounded lions. My players will also try to cause a surprise."

• France strikers Guillaume Hoarau, Loïc Rémy and Louis Saha have withdrawn, meaning a call for Olympique Lyonnais forward Jimmy Briand. Les Bleus lost their fourth game in a row on Friday as they were defeated 1-0 at home by Belarus and on top of that Rémy went off with a groin injury, Saha lasted only 11 minutes due to calf pain and Hoarau, who ended the game, is "unfit" to go to Sarajevo accoring to the French Football Federation website. Karim Benzema, out of Friday with an ankle injury, is available.

• Both those matches were friendlies, the first ending 1-1 at the Stade de la Route de Lorient in Rennes on 18 August 2004 in what was Raymond Domenech's first match as France coach. His team got off to the best of starts through Péguy Luyindula after only seven minutes before the visitors equalised thanks to Ivica Grlić's 37th-minute riposte.

• Two years later, and just over a month after France’s loss to Italy in the 2006 FIFA World Cup final, the two teams met again at Sarajevo's Asim Ferhatović-Hase stadium. This time, Les Bleus ran out 2-1 winners courtesy of a Julien Faubert strike in the first minute of added time, Sergej Barbarez having earlier put the hosts ahead only for William Gallas to reply close to the interval.
