The winners of a UEFA EURO 2012 photography competition to Find the V (for volunteer) have been announced.
In May, participants were asked to use their imagination to take pictures of elements representing a V shape, with the best ten entries uploaded to the official UEFA EURO 2012 Facebook page for users to select their favourite. The deadline has now passed and the top three will receive an official UEFA EURO 2012 match ball signed by world heavyweight boxing champion and volunteer programme ambassador Vitaliy Klitschko.
Two winners hail from Kyiv, venue for the final next summer. Maryana Nikolaieva waited for nature to take its course and captured an impressive V-shaped cloud; Malytskiy Oleksiy took matters into his own hands and produced a human chain V with the help of several friends. The third winner, Luxembourg's Giuseppe Di Florio, opted for a combination of nature and nurture as he captured a cartwheel against the backdrop of a seaside sunset.
The recruitment of UEFA EURO 2012 volunteers is already under way. To be a part of it submit an application before 30 September 2011 only through UEFA.com. Do not delay; click here and apply today!
