Teenage striker Václav Kadlec has been called into the Czech Republic squad in place of the injured Milan Baroš for the UEFA EURO 2012 qualifiers at home to Scotland and away to Liechtenstein.
Baroš scored a first-half hat-trick for Galatasaray AŞ against İstanbul BB SK on Sunday but was later substituted after injuring his thigh and will be sidelined for several weeks. Kadlec fills his shoes having scored three league goals for AC Sparta Praha this season. If fielded, the 18-year-old will become the second youngest Czech international behind Jan Polák, the RSC Anderlecht midfielder who is also in the squad.
FC Viktoria Plzeň midfielder Milan Petržela, 27, is selected for the first time and striker Lukáš Magera returns after an 11-month absence, but Martin Fenin is injured. Michal Bílek's side lost their opening Group I game in Lithuania, so will be chasing their first points against Scotland on 8 October and Liechtenstein four days later.
