Estonia will look to end a run of four straight defeats against their UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying Group C guests Slovenia, having also played them in their first FIFA-recognised post-independence game.
Match background
• Estonia's record in five matches against Slovenia reads W0 D1 L4 (W0 D1 L1 at home).
• They first took on Slovenia in their maiden FIFA-recognised encounter after gaining independence from the Soviet Union, drawing 1-1 in Tallinn despite taking the lead early in the first half.
• That was the only time Estonia have avoided defeat against Slovenia. Friendlies in 1993 and 2007 both resulted in away reverses and Estonia lost twice when the sides were paired together in EURO '96 qualifying.
• Beaten 3-0 in Maribor in the first of those ties, the return fixture in Tallinn on 11 June 1995 ended in a 3-1 triumph for the visitors. Martin Reim opened the scoring for Estonia, but Djoni Novak Džoni Novak registered twice to turn the tables before Zlatko Zahovič made it 3-1 late on.
