Article body
Villarreal CF defender Ángel López has been called up to the Spain squad to replace Álvaro Arbeloa, who had been picked by coach Luis Aragonés for the first time, for the friendly match against France after the Liverpool FC defender dropped out of the squad with a stomach injury.
Sergio Ramos doubt
The 26-year-old has four caps to his name, the last of which came in August last year. "I didn’t expect it at all but I’m very happy Aragonés had me in mind and I will make the most of this chance," said Ángel López, who will join team-mate Joan Capdevila in the squad. Meanwhile, Real Madrid CF defender Sergio Ramos ended Saturday's league game against UD Almería with pain in his right thigh and will have medical tests tomorrow at the Spanish Football Federation headquarters in Madrid to see if he will be fit to play against France in Málaga on Wednesday.
