Despite narrowly missing out on UEFA EURO 2008™, the Norwegian Football Association has extended coach Åge Hareide's contract until the summer of 2010.
Turkey loss
Hareide took charge on 1 January 2004, replacing Nils Johan Semb. Under his guidance, Norway failed to reach the 2006 FIFA World Cup, and next summer’s finals in Austria and Switzerland – a home defeat by Turkey last Saturday effectively ending their chances of a first tournament appearance since 2000. "I felt motivated to stay on for two more years," said the 54-year-old former Rosenborg BK coach.
