Article body
Republic of Ireland manager Stephen Staunton has been banned for one match by UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body after being dismissed from the touchline during last Saturday's UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifying loss to Germany.
Decisions questioned
The former Ireland defender was taking charge of his first competitive game since his appointment in January but was asked to leave the bench after 76 minutes in Stuttgart for "constantly protesting against the decisions of the referee" in the 1-0 defeat. Staunton will therefore have to watch the 7 October qualifier in Cyprus from the stands.
