Article body
Blaž Slišković has been fired as coach of Bosnia-Herzegovina after the Football Federation of Bosnia & Herzegovina opted for a complete overhaul of its coaching staff at senior and Under-21 levels.
Change of heart
The cull has cost both Slišković and his U21 counterpart Ibrahim Zukanović their jobs, and comes less than two months after the former had his resignation refused by the country's football authorities. In the event, the 47-year-old Slišković oversaw another two UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifiers, leaving Bosnia-Herzegovina with a record of one win and four points from four Group C games.
Play-off defeat
Zukanović, 48, may consider himself even harder done to, having guided the U21s through September's qualifying round and into a play-off for next summer's UEFA European U21 Championship in the Netherlands. This was lost 3-2 on aggregate against the Czech Republic. It remains to be seen to whom the federation will turn now, although the senior team have a four-month break before they return to qualifying action against Norway on 24 March.
