Johnson back in England frame

Everton FC striker Andrew Johnson has been recalled by England coach Steve McClaren for next month's UEFA EURO 2008™ Group E qualifiers against Andorra and F.Y.R. Macedonia.

Ashton out
Johnson comes in for the injured Dean Ashton, who broke his ankle while training with England before the friendly victory against Greece on 16 August. The 25-year-old former Crystal Palace FC forward scored on his Everton debut against Watford FC last Saturday. He has been capped twice but has not played for his country since appearing against the United States in May 2005.

Carrick back
Manchester United FC midfielder Michael Carrick returns from injury but team-mate Gary Neville, suffering from a calf complaint, has been omitted. There is again no place for ex-captain David Beckham who was dropped for McClaren's first match in charge, against Greece. England host Andorra at Old Trafford on 2 September before visiting F.Y.R. Macedonia four days later.
