AS Monaco FC captain Ludovic Giuly has been forced to withdraw from France's UEFA EURO 2004™ squad because of a torn abdominal muscle and he will be replaced by Olympique Lyonnais striker Sidney Govou.
Muscle tear
Giuly was substituted early in this week's UEFA Champions League final, which Monaco lost 3-0 against FC Porto, and a scan today revealed that his injury would take around six weeks to heal, making him unavailable for the final tournament.
