Non-scoring feat might be a more accurate description, however, given Greece captain Theodoros Zagorakis will climb to joint-third in the list of international players without a goal, should he fail to score against the Czech Republic. Zagorakis, his country's second most-capped player, has not found the net in 93 appearances since his debut in 1994.

Another goalless appearance tonight would take him level with former Swedish international Orvar Bergmark, who earned 94 caps without a goal in the 1950s and 60s, but the 32-year-old still has some way to go to reach the record of another Swede, Björn Nordqvist, who did not score in 115 internationals between 1963 and 1978.

Nine successive wins
It is unlikely Greece will care who scores, so long as they find a way to beat a Czech Republic side who, qualifiers included, have now won nine successive matches in this European Championship, and scored at least two goals in each victory.

Father and son
The sides have met once before in a European Championship final tournament, in 1980 in Italy when the Czechs - then part of Czechoslovakia - beat Greece 3-1. In the Greece side that night was Anthimos Kapsis, father of Mihalis Kapsis who will be one of the men charged with keeping that man Baroš quiet tonight.
