France repeat
Rehhagel has asked his players for a similar performance to the one that defeated France in the quarter-finals, where Angelos Charisteas's header saw off the holders. "We have to show the same passion and dynamism and take our chances," he said. "We have played very well so far and I hope we have enough strength left to trouble the Czechs."
Greek fans praised
Thousands of Greek fans have arrived in Porto for the game and Rehhagel paid tribute to them. "The support is unbelievable. I have heard that some people have even taken out loans to come to Portugal," he said.
Focus on Czechs
Greece are the only team in UEFA European Championship history to have beaten the hosts and the holders, but Rehhagel refused to look beyond the Czech Republic game to a possible final. "Our only concern is the match against the Czechs. What's important is that we have made it to the semi-finals and this is good for the young people and Greek football."
Full-strength squad
This is the first time in the tournament that the coach has a full complement of players at his disposal: Bolton Wanderers FC midfielder Stylianos Giannakopoulos has recovered from a calf injury and striker Zisis Vryzas is back after suspension.
Midfield reshuffle
Giannakopoulos's return could force Rehhagel to reshuffle his midfield at the expense of Konstantinos Katsouranis, despite the outstanding form of the AEK Athens FC player. Rehhagel was keeping his selection to himself, saying: "I never reveal how I plan to confront an opponent. This doesn't happen in any sport, not even in tennis."
Vryzas to come in
Despite that, Vryzas is likely to replace Themistoklis Nikolaidis alongside Charisteas in attack. Rehhagel won't change the defence that kept France at bay, keeping Traianos Dellas and Mihalis Kapsis in the centre with Giourkas Seitaridis and Panagiotis Fyssas on the flanks.
