Crowd trouble
The fixture, rescheduled for 30 April after it was abandoned because of floodlight failure on 12 October, will be played out at an empty Lokomotivi stadium in Tbilisi following the crowd disturbances at the Group 10 home match against the Republic of Ireland on 29 March. UEFA imposed the penalty after missiles were thrown from the crowd and Ireland's Kevin Kilbane was hit by a pen-knife.
Caretaker coach
Croatian Susak, who took charge on a temporary basis following Alexander Chivadze's resignation earlier this month, has called up eleven foreign-based players and ten players from domestic clubs. The trainer also announced that former Soviet Union internationals Givi Nodia and Otar Gabelia would assist him for the Russia game as well as the Republic of Ireland tie on 11 June.
No sweeping changes
Nodia, the FC Dinamo Tbilisi sporting director, replaces Murtaz Khurtsilava while Gabelia retains the position he held under Chivadze. "I do not think it is necessary to change the coaching staff for this temporary period," Susak said. "The only person who did not want to continue his job because of personal reasons is Murtaz Khurtsilava."
Stadium ban
Of the one-match stadium ban handed to the Georgian Football Federation by UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body, Susak added: "We had hoped that the fans would be our 12th man but we will have to double our efforts now that we are playing at an empty stadium." Fans will be able to watch the game on giant screens at a park close to the Lokomotivi ground, Tbilisi council officials said.
