Article body
Hermann Hreidarsson and Heidar Helguson have returned to the Iceland squad for the away friendly international against Finland on 30 April.
Loss to Scotland
The English-based duo - Hreidarsson plays for Charlton Athletic FC and Helguson for Watford FC - missed last month's 2-1 UEFA EURO 2004™ defeat by Scotland in Glasgow. The loss leaves Iceland in fourth place in Group 5, behind Germany, Lithuania and the Scots, who each have seven points.
Two left out
The inclusion of Heridarsson and Helguson means that Petur Marteinsson and Bjarni Thorsteinsson are omitted. Veteran defender Gudni Bergsson, 37, retains his place in the squad after winning his 78th cap following a six-year hiatus at Hampden Park.
Next qualifiers
Iceland will use the match at the Pohjola stadium in Vantaa to prepare for the visit of the Faroe Islands on 7 June, the same day that Scotland tackle Germany. Both Iceland and the Germans have played three games, while Scotland have been in action four times and Lithuania five.
