Ilievski increases attacking options

F.Y.R. Macedonia coach Nikola Ilievski has called up two new strikers for the upcoming qualifiers.

First chances
Dragan Dimitrovski from FK Pobeda, and FK Sloga Jugomagnat's Arben Nuhiu have been given their first chance at international level, while Aleksandar Bajevski has returned to the squad after a lengthy break. Sloga midfield player Goran Stankovski and Pobeda defender Panče Čumbev, neither of whom have played so far in the EURO 2004™ qualifying campaign, are both also included.

'We play to win'
"We will play offensively and try to win," said Ilievski. "Liechtenstein are not a side to be underestimated, but we are playing at home and three points should be reachable for us. I am not thinking a lot about the match against Turkey. An victory against Liechtenstein would certainly help us to prepare in good mood for the away match in Istanbul."

Creditable draw
Macedonia currently lie in fourth place in Group 7 with two points from four matches played so far. Ilievski's side were held to a 1-1 draw in Liechtenstein last September and have been defeated at home by Slovakia and Turkey, who won 2-1 in Skopje in October, but also gained a creditable and unexpected 2-2 draw in England.
