Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Edgar Davids have not been included in the Netherlands squad to face Belarus on Saturday.
Injury victims
Chelsea FC striker Hasselbaink and the Juventus FC midfield player Davids have been omitted from Dick Advocaat's squad for the UEFA EURO 2004™ Group 3 qualifying game against Belarus in Minsk on 7 June. Hasselbaink is suffering from a calf injury sustained on the final day of the Premiership season while Davids has yet to recover from a groin strain picked up in the UEFA Champions League final last Wednersday.
Training match
The 12 members of the Dutch squad who did not have domestic commitments at the weekend have already begun training under Advocaat with the remainder set to join the camp later in the week. The Netherlands will prepare for Saturday's game with a friendly game against Eredivisie side AFC Ajax, which will take place behind closed doors at the Amsterdam Olympic Stadium on Wednesday.
Group standings
Advocaat' s side are second in the Group 3 standings, level on points with leaders the Czech Republic with each having picked up ten points from their four qualifying games. Both sides have scored nine goals each, but the Czechs top the table by virtue of having conceded fewer goals - just one as opposed to the Netherlands' two.
