Successful applicants for UEFA EURO 2004™ finals tickets will be notified by 31 July after a special draw.

Successful applicants for UEFA EURO 2004™ finals tickets will be notified by 31 July after a special draw.

Overwhelming demand
A massive interest in the tournament means that a draw has had to be held to decide which applications for tickets have been successful. While UEFA and Euro 2004, S.A. have been delighted by the interest in tickets, due to overwhelming demand, both bodies regret that this will mean disappointment for some.

Notification process
Successful applicants will be notified through the postal service by 31 July, while unsuccessful applicants will be notified via email. The actual match tickets will not be distributed until May 2004, for security reasons.

Application forms
Supporters were given the opportunity to apply for tickets after filling in an online form available at euro2004.com. In Portugal, forms were also available through CTT Post Offices, as well as through the Portuguese Football Federation and the match venues.

Second chance
Although the first batch of tickets has now been allocated, there is still an opportunity for unsuccessful applicants to follow their team. Those national teams that qualify will receive either 20 per cent of the stadium capacity or 6,000 tickets, whichever is the greater, for allocation to their supporters. These will be available via the individual football associations, once the competition draw has taken place on 30 November, 2003.

Final opportunity
In addition, sales for those matches that were not fully sold out will re-open on 1 August, 2003 - these tickets will be allocated on a 'first come first served' basis.
