Paraguay fill gap for Austria

Austria have announced that they will be taking on Paraguay - and not China - in a friendly fixture at the Gerhard Hanappi Stadium in Vienna on 2 June.

Austria have announced they will play Paraguay, and not China, in a friendly at the Gerhard Hanappi Stadium in Vienna on 2 June.

Initial plans
The Austrian Football Association (ÖFB) had initially planned for the national team to take on China as they continue preparations for co-hosting UEFA EURO 2008™, but it has now agreed a game against the South American side with a kick-off time of 17.00CET.

Opponents confirmed
In addition, the ÖFB has confirmed Switzerland, Japan and Chile as the teams booked to join in a four-nation tournament to be staged between 7 and 11 September in Klagenfurt and Vienna. Austria will face Japan in Klagenfurt on 7 September while Switzerland take on Chile in Vienna. Austria then play Chile in Vienna on 11 September while Switzerland meet Japan in Klagenfurt.
