Missing men
"It was a bit tricky this time, as Øyvind Leonhardsen and Trond Andersen are looking for new clubs at the moment, while Eirik Bakke is out with a knee injury," said Semb as he explained the inclusion of Stabæk IF's Andresen and Rosenborg BK's Sollie.
Young and talented
"Martin has had his best and most consistent season for a long time and is now 100 per cent committed to playing for the national team, and I am very pleased with that. I have wanted to test Jan Gunnar Sollie for some time, and took the chance now, in a friendly. He is young, but has the talent to be an international player." The 23-year-old joined Rosenborg recently from Odds BK.
Assessing options
The match against Scotland in Oslo gives Semb the opportunity to assess his options before the UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifier away to Bosnia-Herzegovina on 6 September.
