Riga date
The match will take place in Riga on 28 April. The Latvia Football Federation is hoping to announce other warm-up games shortly and has already committed to participating in an eight-team mini-tournament in Cyprus next month. The event, to take place between 15 and 22 February, will also involve hosts Cyprus, Belarus, Hungary, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Romania.
Further friendlies
The LFF is awaiting confirmation from the United States on a possible friendly on 31 March, and is planning a further home game on 7 June although the opposition has yet to be announced.
Czech opener
Having qualified for their first major finals with a play-off victory against Turkey, Latvia will open their EURO 2004™ campaign against the Czech Republic in Aveiro on 15 June. Their other Group D opponents are the Netherlands and Germany.
