All Whites on the night for Poland

Poland, under new coach Zbigniew Boniek, will host a home friendly international against New Zealand on 16 October, only the second time the two nations have met.

Busy schedule
The Polish Football Federation (PZPN) has agreed to hold the fixture four days after their first home EURO 2004™ qualifier against Latvia, the venue for which will be announced on Monday. New Zealand will take on Estonia in a friendly on the same day as Latvia's game in Poland.

Penalties win
Thailand was the venue for the only previous full international between Poland and New Zealand, in a four nations' tournament in June 1999. The two teams drew 0-0, with Poland overcoming the 'All Whites' 5-4 on penalties.

Youth meeting
New Zealand will call on the English-based Barnsley FC pair of David Mulligan and Jeremy Christie, who both played in their nation's 2-1 win against Poland in the 1999 FIFA Under-17 World Championship.

Group 4 test
San Marino will host Poland's first EURO 2004™ qualifier in Group 4, with their other opponents Sweden and Hungary, as well as Latvia.
