Article body
Norway coach Nils Johan Semb has added Thomas Myhre and Frode Olsen to his squad for the matches against Romania and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Delayed decision
The coach named a 17-man squad for the two EURO 2004™ qualifiers later this month on Tuesday but held back on naming any goalkeepers until today. He delayed his decision because both players had been struggling with injuries and a lack of first-team opportunities at their clubs.
Back in form
However, Myhre made his Sunderland AFC debut in midweek in the 7-0 English League Cup success against Cambridge United FC while Olsen was one of the stars of Viking FK's sensational 4-2 UEFA Cup first round win against Chelsea FC last night, that gave them a 5-4 aggregate victory.
Crucial encounters
Norway face Romania in Bucharest on 12 October before welcoming Bosnia-Herzegovina to the Ullevaal stadium in Oslo four days later. Norway are second in Group 2, having drawn 2-2 with Denmark in their opening qualifier last month.
Revised Norway squad
Myhre, Olsen, Basma, Berg, Bergdølmo, Hoftun, R Johnsen, Lundekvam, Riise, Andersen, Bakke, Carew, Iversen, F Johnsen, Svindal Larsen, Leonhardsen, Winsnes, Solskjær, Strand.
