Six players follow Holtz
Following Luc Holtz's international retirement on 20 October, six more names have joined the list of players who will no longer feature in the plans of Luxembourg's Danish coach Allan Simonsen.
Faith in youth
Nico Funck, Frank Deville, Roland Schaack and Ralph Ferron have all chosen to follow in the footsteps of Holtz, as Simonsen looks to the future by introducing younger players into the squad.
Injury woes
Meanwhile, Jean Vanek has quit after failing to recover from recurring injury problems while Luc Mischo believes he has no chance of a regular place under Simonsen.
Heavy beating
Luxembourg suffered a 7-0 hammering by Romania in their most recent match, a UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifier in October, and next face Cape Verde in a friendly on 20 November.
