The Hungarian Football Federation announced the dates of the matches, which Imre Gellei and his squad will use to warm up for their six remaining UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifying ties.
Double headers
Hungary will face Bulgaria in Cyprus on 12 February ahead of the Group 4 double-header away to Poland on 29 March and at home to Sweden four days later. Gellei's team will then take on Luxembourg in Budapest on 30 April, a month before another couple of games that will help shape their chances of reaching Portugal. They entertain group leaders Latvia on 7 June before the visit to minnows San Marino four days later.
In contention
The Hungarian side's final friendly engagement will be in Slovenia on 20 August. Three weeks later, on 10 September, they travel to Latvia ahead of the home encounter with Poland on 11 October. Gellei's men are currently second in their section, with four points from their opening two matches - a 1-1 draw in Sweden followed by a 3-0 home defeat of San Marino.
