Debut chance
Janas could hand a senior debut to Radomski after including the SC Heerenveen midfield player in the party for the game in Split on 12 February. There are also places for seven members of Poland's FIFA World Cup squad - Liverpool FC goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek and striker Pawel Kryszalowicz from Eintracht Frankfurt among them - while another German-based exile, midfield player Bartosz Karwan of Hertha BSC Berlin, is recalled.
Coach's call
"I have just started work as national team coach so I am listening to advice from the people who have worked with the team before," said Janas, who replaced Zbigniew Boniek in the post last month. "I have made so many phone calls to the players that I have had no time for normal contact with other people."
Home rule
Janas, a former Polish Olympic football coach, will announce the rest of his squad next week. However, he will be able to use only home-based players for the away match against F.Y.R. Macedonia three days later, on 15 February, at an as yet unnamed venue.
