Webster steps up to Scotland squad

Berti Vogts has included youngster Andy Webster in his Scotland squad for the forthcoming qualifying matches.

Berti Vogts has named an 18-man squad for Scotland's UEFA European Championship qualifying matches against Iceland and Lithuania, with the prospect of more players being called up after the weekend's club fixtures.

Webster impressed
A newcomer to the squad is 20-year-old defender Andy Webster of Heart of Midlothian FC, who performed so well in last month's 'Future Team' international tournament in Turkey. The event was set up by Vogts and included Scotland, the host nation, Germany and the Czech Republic and was used to give promising youngsters a taste of international football.

Miller retained
Wolverhampton Wanderers FC striker Kenny Miller keeps his place in the squad and is joined by his Molineux team-mate and midfield player Colin Cameron to face Iceland at Hampden Park on 29 March and Lithuania in Kaunas four days later.

Five or six to be added
Vogts will be watching this weekend's fixtures closely before deciding which players will be asked to join the squad, but he expects to add five or six names before the players gather on Monday evening.
