Preparation for qualifiers
The game will come as preparation for the UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifiers against Romania on 9 September and Denmark four days later. Luxembourg's next friendly is on Wednesday against Hungary, prior to a qualifier against Denmark on 11 June in which they will be seaching for their first point in Group 2.
Last victims
Malta, who also have no points in Group 1, were in the last side beaten by Luxembourg in a full international in 1995 when Luc Holtz scored the only goal of the match at the Stade Josy Barthel under coach Paul Philipp.
