Following last night's 3-0 victory over Yugoslavia, France have announced plans for a friendly international against Egypt next spring.
Paris date
The French Football Federation has agreed with its Egyptian counterpart to stage the match on 30 April at the Stade de France. The match will follow soon after France's UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifier against Israel and will be a final run-out for Les Bleus before the FIFA Confederations Cup, which is scheduled to take place in France during the final two weeks of June.
First time
It will be a first meeting with Egypt for the French, who have played more than 70 countries in official matches. Egpyt are four-times African champions, most recently in 1998.
