UEFA EURO 2020, initially scheduled to take place from 12 June to 12 July 2020, ran from 11 June to 11 July 2021.
For this special edition of the tournament – spread over 11 host cities – UEFA implemented a high-quality and memorable volunteer programme across all venues.
As usual, volunteers supported the delivery of the event's wide-ranging projects, including accreditation, ceremonies, transport, media, ticketing, match operations and spectator services.
UEFA wanted everyone to have an unforgettable experience that encouraged others to volunteer for European football events in future.
With the tournament held for the first time in 11 different countries, UEFA EURO 2020 featured the most diverse volunteer programme ever, as well as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the thousands of people involved.
The volunteer programme was implemented by 11 local organising structures (LOS), responsible for the recruitment, training and management of volunteers during the events.
