This is now our most important match – that's our approach. Ukraine are a good side with highly talented players. They appear in European competitions with their clubs, so that's why we need to be well-prepared, both emotionally and tactically.

It's important that everyone is ready and I can rely on them. The decision [on the line-up] is always made after the final training session, and that will be the same tonight. I don't want to talk about where we want to finish; it's the three points that matter.

There were periods against Germany when Ukraine created chances to equalise. They carry a threat at set pieces and played very well that day. This shows they are strong.

"There are games you play for the result and there are those you play for honour," midfielder Ruslan Rotan told me yesterday. This is the case for Ukraine. With a lot of the players seemingly still in a state of shock after the squad's early elimination, their mental condition is a major issue for the coaching staff. What is likely to be a much-changed side will badly want to leave France with a win and give at least some consolation to their supporters.

Poland's confidence is up and there could be changes for their final game, with Bartosz Kapustka tipped to start. Fringe players are desperate to impress Nawałka, while the team are adamant that first place in the group is a must. Robert Lewandowski is hungry for goals and Arkadiusz Milik seeking vindication after a couple of misses against Germany. Poland know Ukraine are still dangerous, yet they want the victory. My prediction: a one-goal success.
