Czech Republic captain Tomáš Rosický has been ruled out of the rest of UEFA EURO 2016 after suffering a thigh injury in Friday's 2-2 draw against Croatia.
The 35-year-old pulled up in the 90th minute in Saint-Etienne under no pressure from an opponent and was subsequently sent for a scan at Tours hospital where the injury was confirmed. Czech Republic doctor Petr Krejčí expects the attacking midfielder to be out for three to six weeks.
Rosický, who has scored 23 goals in 105 international appearances, is going to remain in France and support his team-mates as they look to advance to the round of 16 from Group D.
"I felt good in the first half," he said. "I felt that we needed to push for the three points so I pushed myself harder. I didn't have much strength left and I've paid for it unfortunately. Now my team-mates await a fantastic game with everything to play for against Turkey."
The Czech Republic must win and either overhaul Croatia for second place or finish as one of the best four third-placed sides if they are to reach the last 16.
