There are no new faces and few surprises among the 26 players named by Ukraine coach Mykhailo Fomenko in his provisional UEFA EURO 2016 squad.
Shakhtar Donetsk's new forward Yevhen Seleznyov, a scorer in the 2-0 defeat of Slovenia in the first leg of the play-offs, was not included while talented Ufa midfielder Oleksandr Zinchenko also misses out.
"We have discussed [Oleksandr] Zinchenko with Oleksandr Golovko and decided that he will help the U21s first and then maybe he will join us," said Fomenko, who also named a standby list of four players – Vitaliy Buyalskiy, Ivan Ordets, Artem Putivtsev and Artem Gordiyenko. "There are also some discussions on [right-back] Bohdan Butko," he added.
"We may make changes as football is a contact sport and anything can happen," said the coach, who also confirmed that Ukraine would play only two pre-EURO friendlies instead of three (Romania on 29 May and Albania on 3 June). "I think we will not need the third game, two will be enough for us."
