Goalkeeper Przemysław Tytoń, defender Paweł Dawidowicz and forward Artur Sobiech were pruned from Poland's initial 28-man selection, along with the injured Maciej Rybus and Paweł Wszołek, as Adam Nawałka announced his 23-man selection for UEFA EURO 2016.
"I would like to thank Przemek, Paweł and Artur for having been with us," said the Poland coach. "I hope they will have their fingers crossed for the team. We worked hard during our two training camps in Poland. We had marvellous conditions here, and I hope all we need to do in France is to tidy up some details.
It was a busy day at Poland's base in Arlamow, with the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, dropping in to visit the team. On Sunday, team doctors confirmed that Rybus would miss the finals with a shoulder injury, Wszołek having been ruled out with a broken arm a few days earlier.
Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski will likely be Poland's main offensive weapon at the finals, but young midfielders Piotr Zieliński, 22, and Bartosz Kapustka, 19, are also tipped to shine at the tournament.
