The UEFA EURO 2016 ticket portal closed at 20.16CET on Friday 10 July – exactly a year before the final in Paris.

Even though qualifying is still under way and the match schedule will not be completed until the final draw in December, in the one-month sales window 11,264,142 ticket requests were made through this website.

Ticket requests were received from 209 territories with 41% of those coming from host country France.

The three most popular matches are the final (1.2m requests), the opening match (650,000) and the quarter-final on 3 July (550,000), all of which will be played at the Stade de France.

Demand greatly outstrips supply for matches in all host cities – by a ratio of between 7:1 and 15:1, depending on the city.

A total of 15,964 tickets were requested for disabled spectators while the creation of a category of moderately priced tickets (from €25 for group matches to €85 for the final) has fuelled demand, with 6m requests for this category alone.

If you have applied for tickets for 'Le Rendez-Vous', here is what happens next:

• Random draws will take place to decide which applications have been successful, and all applicants will be notified about the results no later than 15 August.

• All applicants are requested to check with their bank to ensure there are sufficient funds on their credit card, or to raise the credit limit, in the event that their application is successful.

• Your application status will also be visible on the portal. Now the portal is closed, applications and personal data cannot be edited. More information about tickets.

Missed the deadline?
Do not worry. The completion of this first, neutral phase of ticket sales does not mean that there are no more tickets available for the final tournament; further tickets for all games will be made available for fans of the 24 participating national teams after the finals draw in December.

For any companies or individuals looking for an exclusive UEFA EURO 2016 experience and an exceptional level of service for themselves and their guests, a hospitality programme has been designed and will be implemented at every stadium. More information about the hospitality programme.
