Having battled through the play-offs to make it to their first UEFA European Championship since 1972, Hungary were extremely pleased to have been drawn alongside Portugal, Iceland and Austria in Group F.

Bernd Storck, Hungary coach
I am happy just for the fact that we are here. Portugal and Austria are the favourites in the group, I think Iceland and ourselves are the underdogs, but we will see. It's a great challenge to show what we can do on the international stage, and we are looking forward to it. Forty-four years [the length of time since Hungary's last EURO finals] is a long time.

Roland Juhász, Hungary defender
It's nice to be in a group with our neighbours Austria, and Portugal and Iceland are both teams we have a chance against, so I think the draw was kind to us. Playing against Cristiano Ronaldo will be very difficult because he is world-class and Portugal are the outstanding team in the group, but anything can happen between the other three teams.

Tamás Priskin, Hungary forward
We're not in the toughest group so we have plenty of hope. We have a chance in all three of our matches – we're talking about 90 minutes here and anything can happen so really I'm positive and looking forward to it.
