Northern Ireland v Hungary background

Northern Ireland have yet to lose a Group F home game and victory here will see them seal a berth in their first major tournament in 30 years. Hungary, though, have not been defeated on the road in UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying.

• Dániel Tőzsér is suspended after accumulating three bookings. The following players are a yellow card away from a ban: Chris Brunt, Kyle Lafferty, Connor McLaughlin (Northern Ireland), Balázs Dzsudzsák, Roland Juhász and Leandro (Hungary).

• Late goals from Niall McGinn and Kyle Lafferty secured a 2-1 win for Northern Ireland as they overcame Hungary in Budapest in their opening Group F game.

• That was Northern Ireland's first win in five meetings with Hungary; their record against their guests now reads W1 D0 L4 (W0 D0 L3 in Belfast – W1 D0 L1 in Hungary).

• The sides' most recent encounter at Windsor Park was a friendly on 19 November 2008, Erwin Koeman's Hungary beating Nigel Worthington's home side 2-0 with Sándor Torghelle (57) and Zoltán Gera (71) on target.
