National team coach Didier Deschamps has signed new terms with the French Football Federation (FFF), pledging to stick with Les Bleus until the close of their 2018 FIFA World Cup campaign.
"At the request of the president Noël Le Graët, the executive committee of the FFF has decided to renew Didier Deschamps' terms as France national coach until the 2018 World Cup," reads a statement from the FFF. Deschamps' assistant Guy Stephan and goalkeeping coach Franck Raviot have also had their contracts extended.
The FFF showed its commitment to the 46-year-old Deschamps last August, when the 103-times capped former France midfielder accepted a deal that would keep him in charge until the end of UEFA EURO 2016. Hired in 2012, the one-time FC Nantes, Olympique de Marseille and Juventus man – who previously coached AS Monaco FC as well as Juve and Marseille – led France to the 2014 World Cup quarter-finals.
France's tough schedule for 2015 begins with a friendly against Brazil on 26 March.
