Hugo Lloris, France goalkeeper
We'd have preferred to end the match with a victory, but we performed well. We were much more aggressive in the second half. We equalised and then weren't far away from scoring the decisive second goal. There was a fantastic atmosphere despite us being a bit sluggish in the first half, and we managed to get back on level terms, which was the minimum requirement.
We were expecting this sort of match. Albania are very dangerous from set pieces. Whenever they got a sniff of a counterattack or a loose ball, they would take advantage of it as a team and weren't shy to shoot. That's part of the game and we had to deal with it in the best way possible.
We are still on our trial-run, so to speak. Lots of different players are getting playing time, so there's plenty of rotation. We also tried out a new system in the first half today. We still have a fair amount of time to work, finalise the details, and to progress as a team in order to be ready for the EURO.
Lorik Cana, Albania midfielder
[On breaking Albania's appearance record] I was not really thinking about that when I started my first game more than 11 years ago; I was 19, but I am just proud to be captain of this team and my nation. So to break the record, I do not think that is very important. I am just trying to give my experience and everything I have for this team.
We are really improving since World Cup qualifying, the team is really growing, we have some new players coming in and we are trying to do our best. We are trying to be well-organised and not concede too many goals. We are trying not to lose possession, not to play long balls and when we have an opportunity to try and take it.
Didier Deschamps, France coach
We had many chances and we managed to get a lot more opportunities in the second half, probably because they tired. We produced some good link-up play going forward. Yet this is only one match and there were some things which didn't work so well. Let's not forget that even though this is 'only' Albania, they went and won in Portugal. They're no longer a small [football] nation. We drew at home using a new system and with a lot of players missing.
Giovanni de Biasi, Albania coach
I'm partly satisfied with my team's performance, but we could have defended better, especially for [Antoine] Griezmann's goal, because I had warned my players that he often starts from the left side. Today he dribbled past three defenders and scored. I was really angry with my players.
Yesterday, I half-jokingly said that we could win this match. In the end, we led and had many chances, so it's a good display. In this kind of match, psychology plays a big role. We may have been more motivated than France, which is normal, but there's no use comparing France and Albania because the difference in technical and physical aspects is so big.
