There is plenty of UEFA European Championship pedigree in UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying Pot 3, with former semi-finalists Turkey among the nine contenders.

Having reached the last four at UEFA EURO 2008 under coach Fatih Terim, now back in charge for a third spell, Turkey will hope to improve on play-off defeats in their most recent EURO and FIFA World Cup qualifying campaigns. Meanwhile, Serbia have a strong legacy in the competition as part of Yugoslavia, finalists in 1960 and 1968 – as do Slovakia, former constituents of 1976 winners Czechoslovakia.
Romania made the quarter-finals in 2000 and will be quietly confident after a positive World Cup qualifying bid which ended in the play-offs, while Israel and Slovenia are targeting a first European finals. Norway, Austria and Poland complete Pot 3.
