England midfielder Kieron Dyer has been ruled out for several months with a double fracture of his right leg less than two weeks after joining West Ham United FC.

New signing
The 28-year-old, who moved to the London club from Newcastle United FC for a fee in the region of €10m, was stretchered off after being injured in a challenge during West Ham's 2-1 English League Cup win at Bristol Rovers FC on Tuesday night – only his third outing for the team.

'We're devastated'
"We're devastated for Kieron," said West Ham manager Alan Curbishley. "I can't put it into words. The game was just immaterial after that." The 33-times international will miss the remainder of England's UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifying campaign, with Steve McClaren's side sitting fourth in Group E.
