Paris have already played Premier League visitors at the Parc des Princes this season, coming from two goals down to beat Manchester City 4-2 on Matchday 7.
That was only their second victory in their last eight games against English clubs, a run that includes five defeats – the most recent 2-0 at Arsenal on Matchday 2.
The win against City was only Paris' fifth in their last 18 matches against English sides, home and away (D4 L9), and one of only three in the last nine at home (D3 L3).
This is Paris' first knockout tie against a team from England since losing 1-4 on aggregate to City in the 2020/21 semi-finals – a third successive two-legged loss making their overall record W3 L5.
This is Paris's 17th campaign in the Champions League proper, a new French record; they had previously been level with Lyon. They have featured every season since 2012/13, reaching the knockout stages in all 13 of those most recent campaigns.
Last season Les Parisiens beat Spanish pair Real Sociedad (4-1 aggregate) and Barcelona (6-4 aggregate) in the round of 16 and quarter-finals respectively, before losing to Borussia Dortmund in the last four (0-1 a, 0-1 h).
The French side have lost in the last 16 in five of their last eight Champions League campaigns. Their overall record at this stage is W7 L5.
The Parisians have won 20 of their last 43 European matches (D8 L15) and have been victorious in 50 of their last 80 home games (D20 L10), including against Girona (1-0), Manchester City and Brest (7-0) this season.
