Gyökeres enjoyed a prolific calendar year for club and country, managing five in this season's Champions League and two in last season's Europa League for Sporting, while he also finished as the top scorer in the Nations League league phase after netting an impressive nine times for Sweden.

Following closely behind Gyökeres were Ayoub El Kaabi and Harry Kane with 15 goals each. El Kaabi was the top scorer in Olympiacos' successful 2023/24 Conference League campaign with 11 goals, and the Moroccan forward has added four more in this season's Europa League. Kane scored nine times in the Champions League for Bayern in 2024 and six times for England across EURO 2024 and the Nations League.
