GOALKEEPERS

Michele Di Gregorio's suspension gave Mattia Perin (€3.9m) a chance to start for Juventus and the 31-year-old put in a brilliant individual performance despite his side's defeat at home by Stuttgart. Perin registered ten saves, one from a penalty, and was named Player of the Match. His score of 13 Fantasy points was unmatched in his position.

Elsewhere, four goalkeepers recorded a third consecutive clean sheet, including Arsenal's David Raya (€5.6m). No goalkeeper has a higher Fantasy score this season than Raya, although Emiliano Martínez (€5.0m) is just one point behind following Aston Villa's 2-0 win at home to Bologna.

Both Yann Sommer (€5.5m) and Marco Carnesecchi (€4.5m) also shut out their respective opponents for the third Champions League game running. Each picked up six points as Sommer's Inter edged past Young Boys while Carnesecchi's Atalanta played out a goalless draw with Celtic.

Highlights: Girona 2-0 S. Bratislava

DEFENDERS

Under-the-radar defenders shone on Matchday 3, with three of the top four highest-scoring players owned by less than 1% of Fantasy managers. Girona's Miguel Gutiérrez (€5.0m) and Stefan Ristovski (€3.9m) of GNK Dinamo led the way, both picking up 16 points after being named Player of the Match in 2-0 victories. While Gutiérrez was on the scoresheet, Ristovski recorded two assists.

Gutiérrez's Girona team-mate Juanpe (€4.5m) scored from outside the box along with eight ball recoveries to deliver 15 Fantasy points in his first appearance of the league phase. Wilfried Singo (€4.5m) matched Juanpe's total despite his Monaco team not keeping a clean sheet. The Ivorian also scored from outside the box and recorded an assist and 11 ball recoveries in a 5-1 win against Crvena Zvezda.

There was also a big Fantasy return for premium asset Achraf Hakimi (€5.5m). The Paris Saint-Germain full-back earned the Player of the Match award after scoring against PSV, recording 13 points in total.

Highlights: Barcelona 4-1 Bayern München

MIDFIELDERS

Barcelona's Raphinha (€7.5m) was the only player in any position to score over 20 points after his hat-trick helped Hansi Flick's side defeat Bayern München. Raphinha now has four goals, an assist, two Player of the Match awards and 35 Fantasy points across the last two matchdays.

The 40% of Fantasy managers who own Florian Wirtz (€7.7m) were rewarded with 11 points after his goal from outside the box in Leverkusen's 1-1 draw at Brest. Wirtz has scored seven or more Fantasy points in every game this season and is the only player to have won Player of the Match in all three fixtures.

Also scoring 11 points on Matchday 3 was Phil Foden (€9.0m), who scored again for Manchester City in their win over Sparta Praha to make it 25 points from two starts. Those searching for a bargain differential, meanwhile, should consider Antoni Milambo (€4.5m), who scored twice as Feyenoord won at Benfica, his 16 points making it 23 over the last two matchdays.

Highlights: Real Madrid 5-2 Dortmund

FORWARDS

A number of premium-priced Fantasy strikers were on the scoresheet on Matchday 3, none more eye-catching than Vinícius Júnior (€11.0m). The Brazilian led Real Madrid's second-half comeback against Borussia Dortmund, scoring his first Champions League hat-trick as the holders emerged 5-2 victors. The Player of the Match award helped him to 17 points, easily the highest among forwards on Matchday 3.

In more than 50% of Fantasy team, Erling Haaland (€11.0m) struck twice for Manchester City, picking up ten points, to make it 44 goals in 42 Champions League appearances. Lille's Jonathan David (€7.0m) also scored twice while Kerem Aktürkoğlu (€6.2m) maintained his record of finding the net in all of Benfica's fixtures so far.

Two of the most lethal strikers in the Champions League met and were both on the scoresheet in Barcelona's emphatic win against Bayern. Robert Lewandowski (€9.5m) made it 97 Champions League goals across his career, while Harry Kane (€10.7m) now has 34 after scoring his fifth of this season's competition. Both ended Matchday 3 with six points.
