Article body
The final Scout squad of the UEFA Champions League group stage includes three players from both Inter Milan and Newcastle United, while Kylian Mbappé leads the line and Mats Hummels' ball-recovery prowess earns him selection in defence.
Goalkeepers
Tuesday's choice is once again Yann Sommer (€4.5m), who has managed ten clean sheets in his first 15 league appearances for Inter – a new Serie A record – and has scored 20 Fantasy points in this season's Champions League. The Swiss international will look to register his third shut-out of the European campaign in the Group D decider at home to Real Sociedad.
On Wednesday the likes of Diogo Costa, Jan Oblak and Iñaki Peña all have their appeal, although Janis Blaswich (€4.5m) is the selection. The Leipzig goalkeeper has scored 14 Fantasy points despite not keeping a clean sheet to date, but has three shut-outs at home in this season's Bundesliga ahead of the visit of Young Boys.
Defenders
Sommer's Inter team-mate Francesco Acerbi (€4.5m) is one of the five defenders selected for the home game that will settle first place in Group D; the centre-backs has two clean sheets from his four appearances so far. Mats Hummels (€5.0m) is perhaps less likely to keep a clean sheet as Borussia Dortmund welcome Paris Saint-Germain but is the joint highest-scoring on Fantasy with 36 points, 13 of them via ball recoveries, which is relatively result-proof.
Lens may have shipped six goals on Matchday 5 but have managed six clean sheets in their last seven Ligue 1 games and take on a Sevilla side without a win in Group B for a place in the UEFA Europa League, meaning Kevin Danso (€4.5m) gets a spot in the squad. Also facing decisive Matchday 6 fixtures are Napoli's Giovanni Di Lorenzo (€5.5m), who has managed 28 points ahead of the visit of Braga, one more than Kieran Trippier (€6.0m) who is likely to be a significant creative presence if Newcastle are to get an essential win at home to AC Milan.
Midfielders
Newcastle may have struggled away from home in recent times but have been a different prospect at St James' Park, where they take on Milan on Wednesday, with Anthony Gordon (€5.5m) having found the net in their last four home Premier League games. Also in fine form is Hakan Çalhanoğlu (€7.1m), who has six goals in his last nine Inter appearances in all competitions, five of them penalties.
Galeno (€6.8m) is likely to play a pivotal role as Porto face Shakhtar Donetsk to settle qualifying from Group H, 19 of his 29 Fantasy points having come in the reverse fixture on Matchday 1 thanks to two goals and an assist. Jude Bellingham (€7.9m) is the top scorer on the game overall on 46 points and will attempt to score in his fifth group game as Real Madrid visit Union Berlin while Xavi Simons (€6.8m) has two goals and two assists in Group G for Leipzig before they take on Young Boys.
Forwards
Premium striking options may take more consideration than usual on Matchday 6 with Erling Haaland carrying a foot injury, Harry Kane a possible rotation risk and Robert Lewandowski having only managed one goal in this season's Champions League. Kylian Mbappé (€11.5m) is likely to be pivotal to Paris's hopes of claiming a crucial win in Dortmund, with three goals in this season's group stage – one of them in the reverse fixture on Matchday 1.
Álvaro Morata (€7.9m) is the joint-top scorer with five goals and has managed 33 Fantasy points before his side play at home to Lazio in their last Group E game. Alexander Isak (€7.4m) is likely to lead the Newcastle line at home to Milan with the English club needing a win to have any prospect of progressing, the Swede having scored his first goal in this season's Champions League in Paris on Matchday 5.
