Champions League Fantasy Football: The Scout squad for Matchday 4

Real Sociedad provide three players for the Scout's fourth Fantasy selection of the season, with Manchester City, Bayern München and Real Madrid all having two representatives.

Harry Kane is one of the stand-out picks in the Scout's fourth squad of the season on #UCLfantasy, presented by Playstation, with Álvaro Morata and Vinícius Júnior linking up in a star-studded forward line. The most popular player on the game, Jude Bellingham is selected again, while there is also room for Jérémy Doku following an incredible weekend showing; the winger is one of two Manchester City selections, although it is Real Sociedad who lead the way with three picks for UEFA Champions League Matchday 4.

Goalkeepers

The two goalkeeping selections both face home games against opponents who are yet to pick up a point in this season's group stage. Tuesday's pick is Porto's Diogo Costa (€5.5m) who, while yet to repeat his remarkable displays in the 2022/23 group stage, will look to pick up his first clean sheet in this season's competition at home to Antwerp, who have scored three goals so far.

Should Porto be unable to keep a clean sheet, Wednesday's choice will come into play, bargain signing Álex Remiro (€4.0m) as Real Sociedad take on Benfica, who are yet to score in this season's Champions League. La Real have kept clean sheets in their last two Group D games and will now look to repeat the feat on home soil, where they have conceded one goal – in added time against Barcelona on Saturday – in their last three matches in all competitions.

Defenders

Unbeaten Real Sociedad also provide a low-budget option in defence, where Hamari Traoré (€4.5m) has delivered 20 points already – 17 of them in the last two matches. Level on points with him are Napoli captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo (€5.5m), who picked up eight at Matchday 4 opponents Union Berlin in Germany, and Leipzig's David Raum (€4.5m), scorer of 13 at home to Crvena zvezda thanks mainly to a goal and the Player of the Match award.

Free-scoring Feyenoord go to Lazio with Lutsharel Geertruida (€4.6m) having managed two goals in his last three Eredivisie games and three for the season. Rico Lewis (€4.5m) was Player of the Match as Manchester City won at Young Boys in their last fixture and is likely to be involved again in the return as he looks to add to the 13 points he has picked up in his last two outings.

Midfielders

The Real Sociedad contingent is completed, inevitably, by Brais Méndez (€6.8m), who is the top scorer on the game overall with 35 points and who has found the net in all three fixtures to date. Jude Bellingham (€7.8m) is second, three points behind, and is also looking for a goal to match his 2022/23 feat of scoring in the first four group games – the midfielder is in 79% of team as it stands, although his participation in Real Madrid's home game against Braga may be in question due to a shoulder injury suffered at the weekend.

Kingsley Coman (€8.0m) is also in good form with assists in Bayern München's last two Bundesliga games and goals in each of his two matches before that, including one at Galatasaray on Matchday 3. Johan Bakayoko (€7.5m) was also on target in the last set of Champions League games as PSV Eindhoven drew at Lens; that was the third successive game in all competitions in which the 20-year-old had found the net.

Jérémy Doku (€7.0m) is the final midfielder; having played 90 minutes on Saturday the Manchester City winger may be in danger of rotation for the visit of Young Boys, but having scored and also become only the eighth player to set up four goals in a Premier League match, the Belgian is worth the risk.

Forwards

Fantasy managers are spoiled for choice up front with a number of strong contenders including Erling Haaland – although he may be rested due to an ankle injury that prompted his half-time substitution on Saturday – Kylian Mbappé and Santiago Giménez, scorer of two goals on his belated Champions League debut on Matchday 3. Few can match Harry Kane (€10.0m), who has two hat-tricks – and an assist – in his two league appearances since Matchday 3, when he also found the net. That made it 15 goals in his first ten Bundesliga matches, a competition record, and ten goals in his last five games for Bayern and England.

Giménez's numbers are hard to ignore – 13 goals in 11 Eredivisie appearances this season – but the Mexican has drawn a blank in his last two outings and, with an away game at Lazio this week, Álvaro Morata (€7.6m) is the choice for Atlético de Madrid's home game against Celtic. The Spain international has scored in his last three matches, including in Glasgow on Matchday 3, and of his three Champions League goals in Group E, two came in his previous match in Madrid.

Vinícius Júnior (€11.0m) is selected for the third slot; fancied to score heavily at home to Braga, the Brazilian is looking to add to his one Champions League goal this season and his ability to unlock the defence could be crucial if Real Madrid are to make it four wins from four in Group C.
